Libsyn is looking for a PHP Developer with 5-7+ years of experience and demonstrated success with high-end web applications. This position will be working as part of an established development team and will play a key role in planning, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining various components of a large platform. The successful candidate must have a strong background in full life cycle development and possess a solid working knowledge of IT concepts including databases, structures, software/application development, and testing techniques.

Liberated Syndication (libsyn) pioneered the system to host and publish podcasts in 2004 and is the largest leading podcast network. Libsyn serves media files for over 6.9 million requests for shows per day, reaching over 38 million people per month.

The position requires a collaborative and proactive person who can work well with those at all levels of the organization. To succeed in this role, you will need to excel in both team-oriented and individual contributions in the following areas: Designing, configuring, coding, testing, and deploying software applications. Additional responsibilities include the maintenance and support of applications including performance tuning, bug fixing, and end user support activities.

The Web Application Developer will be working primarily with the team to design, develop and implement innovative web services and applications for media distribution. Familiarity with social media platforms and mobile applications is desirable. Use of web technologies and knowledge of popular third party APIs (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) is desirable.

The position is located in Pittsburgh and will report directly to a senior development team member.

Requirements:
5-7+ years of real-world experience developing web applications and services
Object-oriented design patterns
Basic MySQL queries/joins, etc.
Linux/Unix command line and system administration skills
PHP 5.3 or greater
Familiarity with REST architecture and OAuth
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of MVC frameworks (especially Zend Framework)
User interface development: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, jQuery, jQuery UI
Experience with version control systems (especially Mercurial)
Third-party API integration (REST, XML-RPC)
PCI compliance and best practices

Bonus Points:
Mobile application development (iOS, Android, Windows Phone)
Braintree payments API
Experience with test-driven development practices
